Timo Bernhard's next career...

Timo Bernhard may have a backup career as a mechanic. During hour eight of the 12-hour race, track debris hit the engine and hit a master switch. Unbeknownst to his crew until they saw it on the television monitor, Bernhard pulled off track, got out, flipped the switch and got back on track. Bernhard's biggest concern was that the fire bottle went off in the back of the car and caused a big mess.

"I think this is something we can laugh about at the end of the race," Bernhard said.

No. 24 is steadily moving up in class and is currently running sixth.

No. 23 has pulled ahead to first in class, gaining one lap over the No. 31 Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Porsche. The lap gain occurred during the full course yellow.

"I love going nose to tail with cars and especially another Porsche, I'm actually a bit disappointed that we are one lap ahead now," Sascha Maassen said.
