Although the next 12-hour classic is 360 days away, the staff at Sebring International Raceway is already busy planning the 60th Anniversary celebration for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida, March 14-17, 2012.

“We are not resting on our laurels following the hugely successful 2011 race,” stated Sebring President and General Manager Tres Stephenson. “We fully intend on making the 2012 race the biggest and best Sebring ever. Our 60th anniversary celebration will be something special.”

Sebring International Raceway recently unveiled the 60th anniversary logo and a preliminary list of special events surrounding Sebring’s anniversary. Of particular interest to race fans will be a gathering of former Sebring-winning cars and drivers, Hall of Fame induction luncheon, a new Sebring Record Book detailing the results of every race, and numerous community events surrounding the anniversary celebration.

Sebring will not be alone in marking a milestone year. The City of Sebring will be celebrating its 100th anniversary next year, and the Sebring Airport will commemorate its 70th anniversary.

“Aside from Le Mans, there is no sports car endurance race in the world that boasts the history and tradition of Sebring,” added Stephenson. “Next year’s race will add yet another chapter to Sebring’s legendary status.”
