ROBERTSONS RACING ONWARD FOR 2011
Sebring marks roll-out of full-season effort with two Ford GTs
After rolling out a second Doran-Ford GT at the end of the 2010 season, Robertson Racing is a week away from launching its first season-long campaign of two cars in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón. Both cars, running for the first time on Michelin tires, will start the new season next week at the 59th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida.
“It’s a goal we’ve had for a couple of years,” said Andrea Robertson, who will drive with husband David and Boris Said at Sebring. “If we had a second car, we knew the training would go a lot faster, the setup and development would go faster. And it’s another good-looking, fast car!”
David Murry, Anthony Lazzaro and Colin Braun will drive the second Robertson entry at Sebring.
“I sure would like to see one of the cars on the podium,” Robertson said. “With all the hard work we’ve done and everything we’ve been through, it would be nice to do it for the boys for their dedication and just to show we have the potential. If we can be up front with the factory teams, that would make all of us grin from ear to ear.”
The 59th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida is set for 10:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 19. The race will be shown live and in its entirety on ESPN3.com and americanlemans.com starting at 10 a.m. ET. ABC will provide coverage from 12:30 to 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 20. Visit the American Le Mans Series’ schedule page for information on tickets and area accommodations.
