Flying Lizard Arrives at Road Atlanta for ALMS Round Two

April 13, 2005-Braselton, GA--Flying Lizard Motorsports arrived in Atlanta this week for the second race of the ALMS season, the Grand Prix of Atlanta. The two-car GT2 team will field their Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs at the 2 hour 45 minute race this Sunday, April 17. Lizard drivers Johannes van Overbeek and Jon Fogarty in the No. 45 Porsche are fresh from a podium finish last month at the season-opener Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. They are joined by teammates Lonnie Pechnik and Seth Neiman in sister Lizard Porsche No. 44.

van Overbeek, who had his first ALMS class win at this race in 1999, commented, "We're coming off of a good race at Sebring, but it's still very early in the season; we've got a long road ahead of us in the contention for the championship. I'm looking forward to this weekend. Road Atlanta is a true road course and strategy can play a big role here. It's also a challenging track: passing can be difficult and the blind hills mean that faster classes can sneak up on you pretty quickly."

"Going into Sebring, the No. 44 was running well; it was incredibly disappointing that we were not able to finish the race. We're looking for a solid race here at Road Atlanta to get a chance to show what the car can do," added teammate Pechnik. "And of course, our last race at Road Atlanta was the Petit Le Mans last year, which was a testament to our crew's ability to do whatever it takes to keep our cars on track. With the same crew in place this year and a well set up car, we are hoping for a good race."

"Sebring was a rough race on both cars. We've been working hard over the last three weeks to get them in shape for Road Atlanta. With Sebring past us, we are now focused 100 percent on the rest of the ALMS season and in preparing for Le Mans. Having an additional race this year in Atlanta between Sebring and Mid-Ohio helps to keep us all sharp early in the season," said Flying Lizard crew chief Tommy Sadler.

The Grand Prix of Atlanta will be broadcast on CBS from 1-3 p.m. ET. Live radio coverage of the event will be available on www.americanlemans.com.

The 2005 Flying Lizard Porsches are sponsored by eSilicon and ShoreTel. The Porsches sport the distinctive Flying Lizard livery, with the No. 45 in black and silver this year and sister car No. 44 in the familiar red and silver.
