Starting from second in GT class with Johannes van Overbeek behind the wheel, 45 held their position for an hour and 20 minutes into the race. Approximately an hour and a half into the race, immediately before a scheduled pit stop, No. 45 had an on-track incident with a prototype and spun into the gravel in turn five. The Porsche sustained damage to the right rear tire and limped into the pits for a full pit stop and a driver change. Because the 45 car had to drive around the track with a punctured rear tire, the team opted to advise van Overbeek to take a shortcut out of turn five for a one lap penalty. Darren Law took over driving duties and the car went out 14th position in class.

In the No. 44 Porsche, Lonnie Pechnik moved quickly from seventh to fifth in GT class and held his position for more than an hour into the race, then fell back to sixth position. Approximately an hour and a half into the race, No 44 stopped for a driver change, fuel and tires. Seth Neiman took over for Pechnik.

One hour, 50 minutes into the race, due to an on-track accident, the course got the yellow flag and a full course yellow for approximately 15 minutes. No. 44 pitted for a second time under yellow along with the 45 car. No. 44 had a full pit stop with a driver change to Jon Fogarty. Law stayed in the 45 Porsche. Both Flying Lizard Porsches got the wave by and gained a lap under yellow.

Three hours into the 10-hour, 1,000 mile race, No. 44 is currently running in 6th position in GT class; No. 45 is running 12th in class.
