Le Mans winner prepares for Chevy Grand Prix of Atlanta

TAVARES, Fla. -- June 26, 2003 -- After a class win at the team's debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Alex Job Racing returned from the French racing classic in time to prepare for round two of the American Le Mans Series, the Chevy Grand Prix of Atlanta on June 27, 28 and 29. The No. 23 McKenna Porsche/mail2web.com GT3 RS will be piloted by Le Mans winners, Lucas Luhr of Monaco and Sascha Maassen of Raeren, Belgium. The No. 24 racing machine will be driven by Jörg Bergmeister of Langenfeld, Germany and Timo Bernhard of Miesau, Germany.

The Road Atlanta Motor Sports Center holds a lot of history for Alex Job Racing. Team owner Alex Job first attended the track as a spectator at the SCCA runoffs in the late '60s and participated in his first SCCA driver's school in 1971 with longtime Sebring International Raceway employee John Burns as his instructor. In recent history, the team has had many achievements at this famous road course including a win at last year's Petit Le Mans, a third place finish in 2001, second in 2000 and a win in 1999. The team hopes to repeat its success this weekend.

"I always look forward to going back to Atlanta. I have been going there for over 30 years. Road Atlanta is a world class race track and our drivers like it very much. This event will be a challenging one since it will be very hot. The last time I remember racing in Atlanta in June was in 1998 and it was extremely hot. The driver cool suits will have to work very well. Our crew and drivers are ready for this event and we are ready to get back to the ALMS 2003 season," team owner Alex Job said.

Based in Tavares, Fla., Alex Job Racing serves as a race prep, chassis-building and tuning facility. On a day-to-day basis, team owners Alex and Holly Job are involved in the growth and administrative functions of the team and business.
