WERNER, AUDI FAST IN ROAD AMERICA WARMUP

Audi's race setup appears to be in order after the pole-winning Audi R10 TDI of Marco Werner was the quickest driver in Saturday morning's warmup for the Generac 500 presented by Time Warner Cable at Road America. Werner's time of 1:48.258 (134.612 mph) was 1.485 seconds clear of Penske Racing's Timo Bernhard in Penske Racing's Porsche RS Spyder from LMP2.

Werner will drive with Friday's pole-winner Lucas Luhr as they seek their second straight overall Series win and fourth of the season. They are unbeaten in class since winning at St. Petersburg in late April.

On the other hand, Bernhard and Romain Dumas are the defending race winners in the American Le Mans Series' four-hour enduro. Bernhard split Audi's two diesel-powered prototypes with the other R10 of Emanuele Pirro and Marcel Fassler at 1:49.944 (132.547 mph).

Series newcomer James Rossiter went quickest for Andretti Green Racing and Acura with a lap of 1:50.296 (132.124 mph). The Brit, who will drive the LMP2 entry with class pole-winner Franck Montagny, was 0.16 seconds clear of the Lowe's Fernandez Racing Acura of Luis Diaz and Adrian Fernandez.

In GT1, class pole-sitter Oliver Gavin continued a dominating weekend that has seen the Corvette C6.R that he will drive with Olivier Beretta quickest in each practice session. Gavin's time of 2:02.692 (118.775 mph) was 0.21 second ahead of the sister Corvette of Johnny O'Connell and Jan Magnussen.

Bell Motorsports' Aston Martin DBR9 of Terry Borcheller and Chapman Ducote was three seconds behind.

GT2 championship co-leader Jorg Bergmeister was quickest in class with a 2:06.825 (114.905 mph) in the Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 RSR that he will drive with Wolf Henzler. Bergmeister, looking for his fifth Road America win, was a surprising 1.48 seconds ahead of the pole-winning Tafel Racing Ferrari of Dirk Mueller and Dominik Farnbacher.

Risi Competizione's Ferrari F430 GT of Rob Bell and Harrison Brix was third in class at 2:08.840 (113.108 mph).
