J3 Racing Finishes Sixth at Portland

Portland, Oregon -- J3 Racing finished sixth today in round six of the American Le Mans Series race run at Portland International Raceway this evening.

Justin Jackson qualified the number 79/J3 Racing/Porsche 911 RSR in ninth with a time of 1:15.354 and an average speed of 94 mph. "In qualifying we were struggling with the grip," said Jackson.

Jackson started the two-hour-and-forty-five minute race from the fifth row in GT2. b^0x001cI had a pretty good start and was able to keep pace with the rest of the field," said Jackson. "The lack of grip followed us from qualifying into the race. It was really tough to get the power down in the corners."

On lap 55 Jackson turned the 911 over to Michael Galati. Galati was able to take advantage of track position and move the car into sixth place. "Even though the car was a real handful all weekend, I really enjoyed my first race in the series. I had a small moment in the chicane when I got shoved to the outside by one of the Corvettes, but other than that I was able to deal with the traffic and faster cars. The J3 team is great bunch of people and I hope I can race with them again in the near future."

J3 Racing will return to Georgia and prepare for the August 22nd American Le Mans Series race to be run at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
