Mosport: A track we know.

Drivers enjoy tracks they experience for the first time for all the reasons one might expect. It's a new experience with new challenges. But, what drivers really like are familiar tracks. Tracks where they know what to expect and how to go fast.

The latter will be the case for Team Bucknum in round seven at Mosport International Speedway on Sunday, August 18 at 11 a.m. EDT, as each of its drivers has raced on the 2.459-mile, hilly terrain, 10-turn permanent road course.

"Sears Point in May was the last track that all three of us knew," said Team Bucknum owner/driver Jeff Bucknum. "On the other hand, it is the four races since then, all of which were at tracks we didn't all know, that we have had our greatest success."

"As a driver, knowing the track gives you a little less to think about," added Bucknum. "But, I'm not sure familiarity is that big an advantage. All the drivers on all the teams are good enough that they can quickly adapt to tracks and figure out what it takes to be quick."

Mosport is cut through the woods and farmer land of Bowmanville, Ontario and is best known for its high-speed turns. The signature track sections are turns two and four. Both feature the exciting combinations of speed and steep multi-story drops at the entry of a turn, and both can make for a hair raising driving and spectating experience.
