Braselton, GA - Cassandra Williams of Detroit, Mich., has won The Monterey Getaway, the first national sweepstakes contest conducted by the American Le Mans Series and marketing partner Pirelli Tires.

As the contest's Grand Prize winner, Williams will receive an all-expense paid trip for two to the 2004 American Le Mans Series season finale race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif., Oct. 14-16, and will also attend the series' "Night of Champions" awards banquet on Oct. 17. In addition to airfare and luxury accommodations in Monterey, she will also receive a new set of Pirelli Tires.

"I'm very excited because I've never been to Monterey," said Williams, who will go on the trip with her sister. "And I've never had the chance to go to a race. It's going to be fun."

The American Le Mans Series is a series of North American professional sports car races based on the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Monterey Getaway was conducted on the official website of the series, www.americanlemans.com, and ended Sept. 28.

"The Grand Prize is a sports car racing fan's dream trip," said Scott Atherton, President and CEO of the American Le Mans Series. "Four nights in a luxury hotel suite with views of the Monterey Bay plus VIP tickets and the chance to see American Le Mans Series cars race for four hours on one of the world's most famous racing circuits is a prize that any racing fan would want to win."

In addition to the Grand Prize, three Second Prize winners will receive certificates for four Pirelli Tires, while 12 Third Prize winners will receive $50 gift certificates for shopping at the official American Le Mans Series online store.
