The American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix race at Lime Rock Park did not hold the result for the No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport team that they had hoped.

GTC points leader Henrique Cisneros and Porsche driver Nicolas Armindo teamed for Round Four of the 2013 American Le Mans Series. Lady Luck did not smile upon the popular team as they suffered driver overheating issues and an eventual off-road excursion that finished their day on Lap 145.

Cisneros started the race from the sixth position in the GTC class. He turned over the red-black-and-yellow MOMO liveried Porsche 911 GT3 to Frenchman Nicolas Armindo in third position. Armindo took the team up to second place and was giving a strong run for the lead but heat exhaustion overtook him and an unscheduled pit stop saw Cisneros back behind the wheel without much time for preparation to jump back in the cockpit.

Cisneros and the No. 44 Flying Lizard Porsche of Dion von Molke were battling in Turn 11 with just 13 minutes to go in the race when Cisneros ended up in the marbles and the two cars spun, sending Cisneros into the wall, which finished the MOMO NGT Motorsport Team’s day. They ended up with points for eighth place in the GTC class.

“It was going great until it didn’t anymore. My first stint went pretty well and I was able to bring the car up to third before turning it over to Nicolas, who prompted brought us up to second. Unfortunately, he got overheated and had to make an unscheduled pit stop. I wasn’t quite ready to jump in the cockpit but did so as quickly as possible. Dion Von Molke and I had a battle going about 13 minutes from the end and finally in Turn 11, the last turn, I gave him room but went in the marbles. I hoped he’d brake or get off but we both spun and I hit the wall. It ended our day. Fortunately, we’re still in the lead so we’ve got to push on and get ready for the next race.” Ramez Wahab, NGT Motorsport Owner/No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport Team Manager: “This event was a really short one with only two days. That made for a very hectic event. The Lime Rock track is narrow and a lot can happen. I don’t feel this track is suited for endurance racing. With such a short lap time you can get a couple of laps down right away.

Henrique’s first stint was for one hour and 12 minutes before a double yellow allowed a pit stop for driver change, new tires and fuel. Nicolas was doing his job and had the car up to second place but unfortunately got overheated and had to make an unscheduled pit stop to put Henrique back in. He was running in sixth position when he came together with another car and had a wreck. Fortunately we were able to maintain our points lead by one point over the No. 45 Flying Lizard Porsche team. Now we have got fix the car and get ready for Mosport.”
