SONOMA, Calif. - June 24, 2002 - The Racer's Group has had an extremely busy and exciting race season so far and it's only just begun. The team just returned from a class win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and is now preparing for the third race in the ALMS ten race season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on June 28-30. Team owner and driver Kevin Buckler will co-drive the Le Mans-winning Porsche 911 GT3 RS, along with local driver B.J. Zacharias of Cincinnati, Ohio.

29-year-old Zacharias drove with The Racer's Group in the team's No. 68 car in February at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and finished fourth in class. Zacharias has enjoyed many wins and awards throughout his driving career including 1997 SCCA Formula Continental champion, 1998 recipient of the Road Racing Driver's Club Mark Donohue Award and 1998 SCCA Formula Atlantic National champion. He has also won seven Formula Atlantic races in seven starts, including five poles and four track records.

"I consider Mid-Ohio my home track and being with a great team like The Racer's Group at home is awesome," said Zacharias.

"We are so excited to have B.J. with us for Mid-Ohio. This is our first ALMS race after Le Mans and we need to put in a good performance and B.J. is the ticket. He drove with us at Daytona this year and was fantastic in the car. He drove a flawless race and was a really good teammate. Mid-Ohio is his home track and I am ready to learn some local boy secrets. I love learning from a local hot-shoe because it is so much more efficient. We have been planning this since Daytona and it has now come together. We will be ready," said Buckler of his Mid-Ohio co-driver.

The Racer's Group is a manufacturer and distributor of high performance Porsche parts, an engine and chassis building and tuning facility, a full service Porsche prep facility and a professional race team. Additionally, they provide electrical and mechanical engineering services, driver development and "arrive and drive" services. They are also the North American distributor of the UNICHIP, a fully programmable piggyback computer system that enhances the performance of streetcars and currently support approximately 130 dealers in the U.S. The Racer's Group is based at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, California.

The Racer's Group is excited to welcome its primary sponsors Rennlist.com, ThaList.com, Adobe Road Winery, Mail2web.com, Monster Cable and Suncoast Porsche.
