GOODYEAR-EQUIPPED CARS CLAIM TOP SPOTS IN CLASS AT MID-OHIO

LEXINGTON, Ohio (May 22, 2005) -- Goodyear-shod cars swept the top two positions in the P2 class of the American Le Mans Series at Mid-Ohio sports car race.

The P2 class is for prototype racecars that are slightly lighter and less powerful than the cars in the P1 class. Goodyear tires have been dominant in the class since the turn of the century.

Jamie Bach and Guy Cosmo co-drove their Mazda/Courage to the P2 victory, while Jon and Clint Field drove their Lola B05/4D/AER to second place in the class scoring. It marks the second consecutive race in which the two teams have finished on the podium.

"In endurance racing, it's all about being around at the finish," said John Doonan, Manager of Motorsports Team Development at Mazda North America. "The engine worked great and the tires were phenomenal."

Bach and Cosmo drove the Mazda/Courage for only the second time this season.

Jon Field, who won the P2 championship using Goodyear tires, and son Clint have competed in all three ALMS races this season.
