EXTREME SPEED MOTORSPORTS TEAM POSTS BEST QUALIFYING LAP TIMES OF THE SEASON
01 Car Will Start in 9th Position, and 02 Car in 6th Spot for Tomorrows Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge

Lexington, Ohio /// August 6, 2010 /// Both the 01 and 02 Extreme Speed Motorsports Ferrari F430 GTs posted their best qualifying lap times of the season, during the qualifying round today at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, for Round 6 of the American Le Mans Series Presented by Tequila Patrón.

Team owner Scott Sharp guided the 01 Ferrari around the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course for a time of 1:20.884, earning him and co-driver Johannes van Overbeek the 9th starting spot in the GT class at tomorrow afternoons race. The 02 car, qualified by Guy Cosmo, posted a best lap time of 1:20.498. The 02 Ferrari, with Cosmo and teammate Ed Brown behind the wheel tomorrow, will begin the 2-hour 45- minute race in 6th position in the GT class.

"At every race we face a new set of challenges, but were constantly improving, and steadily getting closer to where we need to be," commented Cosmo, the Mid-Ohio race record- holder for fastest lap in the GTC series, which he set in 2009 in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Extreme Speed Motorsports driver Johannes van Overbeek is also no stranger to this picturesque Ohio track, midway between Columbus and Cleveland. He is a 3-time winner at Mid-Ohio, and one of only two drivers here tomorrow who has won more than twice.

The Extreme Speed Motorsports Ferraris are running on cellulosic E85R biofuel. The switch to alternative fuels not only helps the performance of the cars, its also in line with the American Le Mans Series global leadership of Green Racing. At the Utah Grand Prix, the seasons 4th race, the No.02 team won the Michelin Green X Challenge in the GT class. The honor goes to the team that runs the farthest and the fastest, with the least environmental impact.
