Danville, Ky. - Oct. 2, 2002 - Brian Cunningham is looking forward to his fifth race with The Racer's Group at this weekend's Cadillac American Le Mans Challenge on Oct. 5. Cunningham, along with team owner and driver Kevin Buckler will pilot the No. 66 Porsche GT3 RS and will continue their wave of success. The Cadillac American Le Mans Challenge is part of the Grand Prix Americas weekend that will bring race cars back to the streets of Miami.
Cunningham has enjoyed four American Le Mans GT class podium finishes since joining The Racer's Group four races ago and is ready to finish the last two races of the season on a high note. His quick and solid driving and knowledge of the circuits has helped the team gain momentum this season. Since joining the team, Cunningham has helped The Racer's Group secure four podium finishes, including a class win at the mail2web.com Grand Prix of Mosport.
"This is going to be a great race at a fantastic venue. It's truly exciting to be a part of a historic event like this. Since there is little background or previous experience on this circuit, all of the teams will be starting from scratch. It will create a level playing field and make for an exciting race. It will be much like the D.C. event and I'm confident that while Alex Job Racing will be strong as always, we can close the gap as we did in D.C. I'm really looking forward to the revival of sports car racing in Miami," Cunningham said.
Cunningham will wrap up the season with The Racer's Group at the Audi presents Petit Le Mans on Oct. 9-12. Cunningham is pleased with the work he's done for Porsche and Michelin and looks forward to continuing that relationship next year.
