7.14.09 -- Braselton, GA - Bryce Miller of Summit, NJ is teaming with Porsche factory Driver Wolf Henzler of Nurtingen, Germany in the Farnbacher Loles Porsche 911 GT3 RSR for Saturday's American Le Mans Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park. The #87 Porsche RSR has been strong this season with two poles in qualifying and a second place finish at the last race in Salt Lake City. For this weekend's home-track race, the Farnbacher Loles Porsche will be carrying the logos of Bryce Miller's longtime sponsors, Marquis Jet and IPC Systems.
Miller is filling in for Henzler's regular co-driver Dirk Werner and is looking forward to the weekend. "I am excited to get back behind the wheel of an RSR - it is an impressive machine and a fun car to drive. My returning to Farnbacher Loles should be a seamless process. The people there are great, their record speaks for itself, and the team runs like a family. I am really happy Greg Loles has given me the opportunity to drive his car again and to do it with Wolf Henzler leaves little up for discussion. Wolf has been a good friend and mentor going back to 2006. Working with him has always been a pleasure and a success so I am ready to do it again."
"It is always nice to come back to my home track, Lime Rock. I have not driven the reconfigured circuit yet, but I can look to Wolf to help accelerate the learning of that new segment for me. Farnbacher Loles showed great pace at Lime Rock last year so I am looking forward to some good results."
Wolf Henzler will have a very full weekend. After the Lime Rock race, Henzler will board a plane for a race on Sunday in another Porsche. "I am glad to be able to drive with Bryce this weekend. We have had good speed in the RSR at every track this year but Lime Rock will be a tough race. There are no long straights where you can relax a little bit, it is just corner by corner. Since it is a very short track, the Prototypes will overlap us every 5 or 6 laps. Therefore we have to watch out for what is coming from behind and make sure we don't lose too much time and keep the car on track, when the faster cars are passing us."
After a long layoff since the last ALMS race, the whole team is ready to get back to the track. With their offices and service facility only an hour from the track in Danbury, CT, Farnbacher Loles considers Lime Rock to be a home track. Between their customers, family, friends and sponsors, there should be a considerable crowd cheering on the #87.
Qualifying for the GT2 Class is on Friday at 3:35pm with the 2 hour and 45 minute Northeast Grand Prix scheduled to start at 2:05pm on Saturday. Live coverage is on SpeedTV beginning at 2pm EDT.
