Kevin McGarrity injured at Sebring

Sebring, Fl (March 15, 2003) -- Kevin McGarrity has a lower leg injury and has been transported to a hospital in Tampa after hitting the tire wall head-on at the Sebring International Raceway.

McGarrity put the Risi Competizione No. 34 Ferrari 360 Modena into the tire wall around 8pm tonight. The high-speed impact also lead to the Ferrari catching fire. The team was running third in the GT class.

McGarrity is reported to be alert and was transported for further evaluation.

The accident brought out the race's first full-course caution after 9 1/2 hours into the 12 hour race.

UPDATE: March 16, 2003

Medical report is that McGarrity sustained broken bones in both feet.
