(Lake Havasu City, April 12, 2005) Team Bucknum Racing will showcase two new drivers for 2005 at Road Atlanta as Billy Johnson and Phil Fogg will appear at this weekends Star Mazda event. They will join Scott Jenkins and Robbie Montinola and will make for a very competitive team effort.
Phil Fogg has run events with Team Bucknum in the past and is looking forward to several events this year, particularly events leading up to the Montreal event supporting the Formula One Canadian GP in June.
Billy Johnson is an emerging talent out of Southern California, having finished 5th the Formula BMW Championship in 2004 as well as being a Red Bull Finalist and Skip Barber Scholarship and race winner in the Barber Regional Series.
"I am happy to add Phil and Billy to our team for Atlanta and beyond. Phil has driven with us before and he is a welcome addition to the team," said team owner Jeff Bucknum. "Billy will be new to us but we are gearing up to support his effort. His achievements in Formula BMW show he is ready for this level of competition. We expect shoot out at Road Atlanta."
Team Bucknum Racing tested at Buttonwillow recently and both Scott Jenkins and Robbie Montinola were besting each others times on every session. Bpth are looking forward to Road Atlanta this weekend.
Team owner Jeff Bucknum will be at Atlanta to support his staff of drivers, as well as to compete in the ALMS main event, the Grand Prix of Atlanta in the Sebring winning Miracle Motorsports Courage C65. But his week doesn't start there. Today he flies to Sears Point Raceway to test an IRL car for Dreyer and Reinbold, Investment Properties of America and Honda, then flies to Indianapolis for a final seat fitting for his Indycar ride at Motegi and Indy, then flies to Atlanta for the ALMS race.
