Motor Racing Star Johnny Mowlem Retains P.R. Veteran

OXNARD, Calif. (June 22, 2004) -- British racing driver Johnny Mowlem announced today that he has retained the services of public relations veteran Lee Elder.

Mowlem lives in Warfield, England but does much of his racing in North America, where he drives a Saleen S7R for ACEMCO Motorsports in the American Le Mans Series. The ACEMCO team is based in Spring Lake, Mich. and competes in the GTS class. The team's Saleen race cars themselves are built at the team's factory in Irvine, Calif.

"I do so much racing in North American that it makes sense to have a public relations representative there," Mowlem said. "Lee comes highly recommended."

The next race for the ALMS teams will be June 27 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

One of Britain's most successful and personable sportscar drivers, Mowlem started his career behind the wheel at age 19. In 2003, he finished fourth in the British Racing Drivers Club Gold Star Award, a ranking of all British racers competing in international series, including Formula One. A married father of two, Mowlem was raised in Majorca, Spain. He has earned university degrees in economics and Spanish. More information on Mowlem is available at www.johnnymowlem.com.
