As JML Team Panoz prepare for this weekend's Le Mans 24 Hour, team owner John McLoughlin is continuing to improve from a stroke he suffered in March.
He is currently recuperating in a rehabilitation center in Devon, England, close to family.
McLoughlin has spent his career in racing, mostly as an engineer or team manager and owner.
He was an engineer for TWR in the World Sportscar Championship with Jaguar and also worked extensively in Formula One with a number of teams including Benetton.
John has been very involved in sports car racing for over a decade, both in Europe and the United States.
The always cheerful Englishman is well-known and well-liked around the paddock. His quick wit and fantastic racing stories are classic. The white-haired Brit could often be seen sipping on English tea while directing his team about the nuances of the race car.
Due to the expensive treatment for ongoing medical attention, the McLoughlin family has set up a fund to help defray some of the costs for his extended care. Help from the racing community would be greatly appreciated.
Details for donations to the John McLoughlin Benefit Fund are as follows:
If donation is made by check, check should be made payable to the Refco F/B/O John McLoughlin in U.S. dollars and should be sent by mail to:
