Stefan loving life in the fast lane
Aston Martin Racing driver Stefan Mücke has praised the team’s training regime as AMR prepares to end another successful year.
Quick Energy helps when you need that extra bit of focus.
Mücke, 30, has been racing for AMR for three years and has enjoyed some thrilling results, having been crowned Le Mans Series champion in 2009.
The German dynamo has formed part of a successful AMR line-up in 2011, and teamed up with Adrian Fernandez and Harold Primat to drive the Aston Martin DBR 1-2 to first place in the American Le Mans Series race at Laguna Seca in September.
The trio are all part of the Aston Martin driver family nurtered by team trainer Pete Webster, who monitors every aspect of their health and diet.
Mücke insists that the AMR training regime is key to his success, and has also praised nutritional supplement Quick Energy for helping to take him to the next level.
He said: “We go through quarterly assessments to monitor the state of our body and mind throughout the season.
“At the beginning of the season, Pete will design an annual plan for us to follow, and the plans guide us through which training session we should be doing on each day. Some days we will do TRX or gym sessions, others we will go mountain biking or running.
“The plans tend to change after each race and fitness assessment, as we can amend it to sort out particular areas that need attention.
“Stretching and regular sports massage sessions are vital for us to stay in peak shape and to avoid injuries.
“Quick Energy helps when you need that extra bit of focus. Your body goes through different states during a race week, from fatigue to adrenalin-fuelled, and Quick Energy gives us that little bit of extra focus just before we get in the car.”
Mücke is loving life at Aston Martin Racing, and is looking forward to another successful year in 2012.
He added: “Aston Martin is just the coolest brand, the race and road cars are absolutely unique. As a driver, you enjoy every second in the car, especially the sound, which is amazing, and keeps you smiling all the time.”
