July 5, 2013 – Lakeville, Connecticut – Spencer Pumpelly claimed the top spot on the class grid in the No. 45 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, with Dion von Moltke taking the 7th spot in the sister No. 44 in today's 15-minute GTC qualifying session for the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix.
Dion will be joined for the race by Seth Neiman, back in the No. 44 car for the first time since the 2012 running of the Petit Le Mans. Dion talked about his qualifying run and Seth's return to the No. 44, saying "The car feels really good for the race, and once again we had one of the more consistent cars through qualifying.
We really made some strides with the car in the break since the last race, and Spencer's great lap in qualifying is evidence of that. We're ready to go and have a good car under us, plus Seth feels good in the car and more comfortable with each session back, so I am optimistic for tomorrow's race."Nelson Canache Jr. will team with Spencer and start the race in the No. 45. Spencer also spoke about the team's work over the past month, adding "I'm very excited to get the pole here with Flying Lizard today. We put in a lot of work over the break since Laguna and worked on certain areas, one of which was better pace in qualifying. We definitely saw that pay off today. It's great going into the race knowing that we've got a strong car and seeing Nelson's quick pace really builds the confidence we have that we are ready for tomorrow."
