Detroit: Andretti Green Racing qualifying report

Bryan Herta, ...

Bryan Herta, #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura

"I feel really good about our qualifying result. That was a maximum attack lap. I don't feel like I left anything on the table for the XM Satellite Radio Acura. We don't get a lot of practice laps on two-day events like this so knowledge of the circuit certainly didn't hurt us today. Marino (Franchitti) was good enough to give me most of the second practice session to work on the qualifying setup and I think that really helped us get the car dialed in. It was just a great team effort today. Tomorrow is a long race and I think traffic will be a real challenge throughout the day. I think the XM Acura can put some real pressure on the yellow cars."

Danica Patrick, #7 Motorola Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"We aren't where we want to be right now. We made some progress as the day went on, but we still need to make a big jump tomorrow. We just need to find some more overall grip. This is a very bumpy circuit and that is one of the things that makes it very challenging. We'll just work on it overnight and see what we have tomorrow."

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"I guess nothing has changed in the ten years that have passed since I raced here. It's a great track - very slippery, very difficult and bumpy as usual. It's no worse than ten years ago. It makes us work to make a bigger difference. It's going to be a tough race but I think the Team 7-Eleven car is pretty good and I expect to be running up front all weekend."

Marco Andretti, #26 NYSE Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"I think we had a pretty good day today. I think there's still a little more speed in the NYSE car and we've still got a bit of time to find it. We'll spend some time debriefing tonight and be ready for qualifying tomorrow."

Dario Franchitti, #27 Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone

"I was a bit surprised this morning at just how slippery the track was. We had to work very hard on the car to get it to the balance that I wanted. We were very comfortable in the first session. Then we tried some stuff in the second session that didn't necessarily work. So, we're going to go back to it tomorrow. I am really happy with the way things are going for the Canadian Club team. The bumpiness of the track really suits my driving style, so we'll see how it goes tomorrow."
