BRASELTON, GA (October 18, 2013) – The DeltaWing coupe ran strongly during a qualifying session interrupted by two red flags, starting fourth in the P1 class and 15th overall for tomorrow’s Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, the final race of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.

This final race has added meaning for the DeltaWing team, since Managing Partner Dr. Don Panoz founded both the race and the series - and with the team headquarters situated just up the road from Road Atlanta, there are plenty of family, friends and fans here to cheer them on. The DeltaWing coupe ran near the top of the charts in yesterday’s cool and wet conditions and with rain a possibility for Saturday’s 10 hour/1,000 mile endurance classic, the focus today was on putting the car safely in the field. Andy Meyrick delivered a steady qualifying performance, keeping the car out of trouble and setting the team up for the long day tomorrow.

“It would be fantastic to have a good finish in the last race of the season in front of our home fans,’ said Meyrick, “especially since this is the last ALMS race. Don founded the ALMS so I’m sure he’d love to see us have a strong result here.”

Meyrick and Katherine Legge will share driving duties in the DeltaWing coupe for the 1,000-mile/10 hour event. Petit Le Mans, final race of the American Le Mans Series, begins at 11:30am EDT.
