ROCK HILL, SC, Monday, March 5, 2012: In the true vein of “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em,” 2011 LMPC co-champion and series “Rookie of the Year” Eric Lux will be driving the #05 Composite Resources ORECA FLM09 in the 60th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring powered by Fresh from Florida on March 17.

Lux will be co-driving the #05 Le Mans Prototype Challenge (LMPC) machine with team owner / founder Jon Bennett and motorsports phenom Colin Braun.

It was in 2011 when Lux was crowned LMPC driver champion – along with CORE autosport #06 drivers Gunnar Jeannette and Ricardo Gonzalez, in the first-ever ALMS driver championship tie. That was only the first of two titles that Lux and CORE won – Lux was crowned the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) “Rookie of the Year” and CORE autosport claimed the 2011 LMPC team championship.

The championship title was only the latest mark on Lux’ extensive motorsports resume. After starting his career in karts, the 23-year-old Williamsville, NY native has driven prototype and GT sports cars in multiple series, historic racers of all types and stock cars in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East division. When not racing, Lux is a very popular driving instructor and is very active in community service initiatives.

The 60th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring powered by Fresh from Florida is the first American Le Mans Series (ALMS) event of the 2012 season, taking place at the world-famous 17-turn 3.74-mile Sebring International Raceway. Practice begins on Thursday, March 15, with qualifying Friday the 16th. The 12-hour race starts at 10:30 a.m. (ET) on Saturday, March 17.
