Terry Borcheller rounds out an all American Aston Martin team entered in GT1 by Bell Motorsports. Team owner Jim Bell and driver Chapman Ducote put the final touches on the team and driver line up this week.
Bell Motorsports is excited about running the full 2008 season and competing with the dominant factory Corvette effort. Borcheller is no stranger to this level of competition being one of the only privateer drivers to win the drivers Championship over Corvette drivers in 2001.
During the Sebring Winter test last week, Ducote said, "I was thrilled with the performance of the car and the accuracy of which the team performed. I am looking forward to a very successful season."
Borcheller says "I had expected to test for the team but had no idea I would actually be offered a full time position for 2008. The test went great and almost over night I found myself in a great position to once again go after the GT1 Championship."
Borcheller has worked with Bell Motorsports for many years and is looking forward to an ongoing relationship with his new co driver Chapman Ducote and sponsors OSO Fresh, Total Merchant Services, Krome Skin, Krieger Watch, and Aston Martin.
The team is now poised to focus in on the preparation necessary to be as competitive as they can by the first event of the year at Sebring. "We expect a positive result at this event, and a strong 2008 season", said Ducote "It's going to be a lot of work, but we are all up to the task."
The ALMS series is very pleased with the team's entry, and they are excited at the prospect of tight GT1 competition.
