TELEVISION ADVICE - 27TH MARCH 2000

WHAT: The opening round of the 2000 Le Mans Sportscar Series from Sebring in Florida.

WHEN: Network Ten, Sunday April 2, 12.30pm - 1.00pm

WHY: South Australia will host the final round of the championship, Adelaide's Race of a Thousand Years, on New Year's Eve this year.

WHO: Hosted by former-Network Ten V8 Supercar commentator, Leigh Diffey, the program will profile the stars and the cars of the Le Mans Series from the opening race of the season. Now based overseas, Diffey will give race fans a taste of what they will see on the streets of Adelaide this New Year's Eve.

THE RACE: The 12-hours of Sebring is America's oldest road race. Featuring factory entries from BMW, Audi, Cadillac and Panoz, the event is a torture test of man and machine and an important part of the build-up for the Le Mans 24 Hours to be held in June.

THE DRIVERS: Australia's David Brabham leads the charge for the Australian Panoz team, but there are no shortage of drivers who you may remember from the Adelaide Formula One days. Former Ferrari drivers Michele Alberto and Stefan Johansson; JJ Lehto, Pierluigi Martini, Eric Bernard, Karl Wendlinger, Emanuele Pirro have all raced in Adelaide and are now looking forward to coming back for Adelaide's Race of a Thousand Years.

ADELAIDE: Keep an eye out for the two factory Panoz machines during the Sebring event. Both cars carried major signage promoting Adelaide's Race of a Thousand Years.
