Sonoma, Calif., The Audi S4's raced to second and fifth place finish in a yellow filled Sears Point race.
Derek Bell was able to move-up into seventh place after a lightning start from the eleventh position. Michael Galati was able to sneak past a Porsche to slip into third place at the start of the one-hour sprint.
Two yellow flags bunched the field. The first when a Corvette and a Mustang tangled at the start, the second when a Porsche got high-sided on the tire wall in the carrousel.
"The car developed a miss on the last lap which allowed the Porsche to make it a photo finish for second place. The yellows hurt us. I was hoping for a green race so the Corvette would use a little more tire," commented Galati.
"I had a good start, moving from eleventh to seventh. Then about halfway through I was forced to pump the breaks around the circuit to get a hard pedal. I had hoped we would have had more of an advantage here," said Bell.
"We had a relatively good weekend. Michael and Derek both drove really well. It was tough with the yellows to really show our strengths, but we made up some ground in the championship," said Rod Bymaster, manager, Audi Sport North America. <pre> Top 10 for Speedvision GT Grid for Sunday's Race 1.
