With rain sprinkles in the air, The Audi Sport North America R8's were able to qualify on the front row for the American Le Mans Series, Superflo12-Hours of Sebring.

Frank Biela, in the number 78 R8, is the pole sitter for the Florida classic. A qualifying lap of 1:48.82 put the Audi on point. Teammate Rinaldo Capello posted a time of 1:49.58 placing second to share the front row. The Audi R8's qualifying time is six seconds quicker than its time of 1999.

"It is very exciting to be on the pole for the Sebring race," said Frank Biela. "The car was very good, I was able to get a lap without traffic. Compared to our performance here last year, this result is very good for the team."

"An all Audi front row was the goal from the beginning of the week," said Rinaldo Capello, pilot of the 77 Audi R8.

"The Sebring event is a good race to prepare for Le Mans," continued Biela. "We will work on our race strategy and be ready to race for 12-hours."

"This marks an exciting return to North American racing for Audi," said Rod Bymaster, manager of Audi Sport North America. "The team did a great job to rebuild the car overnight."

The cars will be on the track again this evening for night practice and begin to prepare for the 12-hour race on Saturday.

Speedvision will televise the entire 12-hour race starting at 9:30 a.m. est.
