ALMS: The Audi R10 TDI prototype's unique winning streak of ten successive victories came to end on the streets in Long Beach (US state of California). Dindo Capello/Allan McNish and Emanuele Pirro/Marco Werner celebrated a one-two in the LM P1 category, with which they further increased the championship lead in the American Le Mans Series. However, Team Audi Sport North America had to be satisfied with seventh and ninth overall behind the lighter LM P2 cars in Long Beach. Emanuele Pirro was hit from behind and spun around by another car while leading at half-distance. The resulting puncture cost more than one lap. The "sister car" had to pit early after a piece of debris lying on the circuit blocked the brake cooling ducts, which is why Allan McNish had to pit for fuel a few minutes before the race finished.

Tom Kristensen is father for third time

DTM/Le Mans: Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen became a father for the third time on Saturday evening. At exactly 11 p.m. his partner Hanne gave birth to a boy. Oswald Kristensen is 52 centimetres tall and weighs 3910 grams.

180,000 spectators attend DTM presentation

DTM: 180,000 spectators gave the Audi DTM stars an enthusiastic reception at the official season presentation in Dusseldorf. Demonstration laps with Audi A4 DTM were also on the agenda as were pit stop competitions, interviews and autograph sessions. Not seen in Dusseldorf was Tom Kristensen: Because of the imminent birth of his third child, Audi Sport excused the Dane from appearing at the presentation.

Frank Stippler eager for debut in Sweden

STCC: Parallel to the DTM season opener at Hockenheim, the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) also starts this coming weekend in Sturup. Team KMS Motorsport again enters three Audi A4 STCC cars. New team mate to defending champion Thed Bjork and Tommy Kristoffersson is former Audi factory driver Frank Stippler, who competes in Sweden with the support of quattro GmbH and contests his first STCC race on Sunday.

Stevo Goldstein best Audi driver at Monza

Superstars: Columbian Stevo Goldstein was the highest placed driver of an Audi RS 4 at the second round of the Italian Superstars Touring Car Series. His team mates Gianni Morbidelli and Giorgio Sanna each at the wheel of an RS 4 had an unfortunate misunderstanding in the Lesmo corner and collided. A puncture forced Morbidelli to head down pit road; Sanna had a spin and also received a stop-and-go penalty.
