Sebring, FL -- Audi has been named the Official Pace Car for the 52nd Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. America's oldest and most prestigious sports car endurance race kicks-off the 2004 American Le mans Series (ALMS) on Saturday, March 20.
Audi will pace a field of 48 world-class sports car teams as they tackle the historic 3.7-mile circuit that originated from a WWII B-17 training base.
"Audi has certainly proven itself in recent years as the premier manufacturer in international road racing," stated Sebring President and GM Tres Stephenson. "We welcome them as an official sponsor."
Audi will be going for its fifth consecutive win at Sebring. In addition, the manufacturer has won four consecutive ALMS manufacturer championships.
As part of its Sebring sponsorship, Audi will be featuring its certified pre-owned vehicle program.
Audi Certified pre-owned vehicles offer consumers many important benefits such as a comprehensive vehicle inspection and other new car benefits including dealer warranty, roadside assistance, and in many cases, the balance of no-charge scheduled maintenance.
"Our customers are the race fans, especially the young people who share the same emotional tie and passion for motorsports," said Reinhard Fischer, Audi Certified pre-owned Corporate Sales Team Leader. "We want to capture driving enthusiasts and let them know there is an affordable way to drive an Audi."
Gates open at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring at 7 am on Wednesday, March 17, and remain open 24 hours a day through Saturday. Sebring's four days of racing includes seven supporting events plus vintage racing and numerous off-track attractions.
Sebring International Raceway offers a wide variety of viewing, camping and parking options. For more information, visit sebringraceway.com or call 800-626-7223.
