Audi 1-2 victory in ALMS finale

ALMS: Audi was able to complete their successful 2008 sportscar season with another 1-2 victory. In the finale of the American Le Mans Series at Laguna Seca (U.S. state of California), the two Germans Lucas Luhr and Marco Werner celebrated a narrow victory in front of their team mates Christijan Albers and Emanuele Pirro. The race was one of the most unusual ones of the season. The Safety Car was deployed no less than twelve times -- the most occasions all season. During 46 of the 145 laps overtaking was thus not allowed.

Allan McNish "Driver of the Decade"

ALMS: Audi driver Allan McNish has been voted "Driver of the Decade" by the fans of the American Le Mans Series. The Scotsman clinched the LM P1 Drivers' title of the U.S. based sportscar series for Audi in 2000, 2006 and 2007. Two weeks ago, he won the 1000-mile race "Petit Le Mans" for a third consecutive time together with Dindo Capello and Emanuele Pirro.

Medal for Mattias Ekstrom in Sweden

DTM: Two time DTM champion Mattias Ekstrom has been awarded the "Motor Prince Medal" by the Royal Swedish Automobile Club in his home country for his outstanding successes in motorsport.
