LE MANS SERIES RACE OF CHAMPIONS
Malaysia - Racing In Paradise
9-11 November 2001
Sepang International Circuit
Dick Barbour Racing star Didier de Radigues is eagerly awaiting the Le Mans Series Race of Champions and a chance to return to race in Malaysia, this time on four wheels.
A former 500cc motorcycle Grand Prix star, de Radigues has been a regular visitor to Kuala Lumpur in the past, competing in the Malaysian 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Shah Alam circuit.
The Belgian has proven to be a fast and spectacular on both two wheels and four. He is the only man in history to win the Spa 24 Hours - the 24 hour motorcycle and the 24 hour car event!
In 2001, de Radigues has taken four victories in the LMP 675 division aboard one of Dick Barbour's Judd-powered Reynard - the latest victory with Bruno Lambert at Mid-Ohio.
"I have done three or four motorcycle GPs at Shah Alam as well as a lot of winter testing," de Radigues said.
"I had a lot of fun times back then, Malaysia is a wonderful place and I can't wait to get back there in November.
"I haven't raced at the new circuit, but from what I've seen on television, I think the track will be fantastic for these cars."
Dick Barbour Racing's other Reynard is driven by Canadian John Graham and Venezuelan female racer, Milka Duno.
The Venezuelan beauty has the brains and the beauty to go with her on-track speed. The holder of a number of university degrees including marine biology - when not behind the wheel Milka also designs oil recovery ships in her off-rack profession.
"I can't wait for the Malaysian race - the weather and the scenery looks beautiful," Duno said.
"I had such a wonderful time at the last race of the season in Adelaide last year, I am sure Kuala Lumpur will be just as brilliant.
"Everybody tells me the shopping is also fantastic - this is going to be a great way to finish the season."
