Ende looks to continue win streak this weekend at Road America

Duncan Ende, along with co-driver Spencer Pumpelly, enters this weekend's sixth round of the American Le Mans Series season second in the GT-C class championship standings. However, if the duo are able to record their third consecutive win, they could leave Road America as the new points leaders in GT-C.

A dramatic last-lap pass for the win in Mosport, followed by a dominating performance in the wild and wet race at Mid-Ohio, has seen the no. 66 TRG / Racer's Roast Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cut the championship lead of the no. 54 Black Swan Porsche to a mere eight points. Ende and Pumpelly, who found themselves in a huge championship hole after scoring no points in Long Beach, have fought their way back to be a championship threat with four races still to run in the season.

"We have had to come back from this hole in the championship after Long Beach, but the TRG guys have been giving Spencer and me a great car every weekend," said Ende. Aside from the result in Long Beach, Ende and Pumpelly have not finished worse than second all season. "It has been encouraging how well we have been coming off the trailer at every track. Spencer and I are both very comfortable in the car and we are both looking forward to Road America. It's also one of the tracks we are going to this year that I have driven on before in the ALMS - although it would be great if I didn't get as familiar with the gravel trap in Canada Corner as did last year!"

Ende was busy during his off week as he contested the Canadian Tire 200 at the Glen, partnering Andy Lally in a TRG Porsche. It was a frustrating weekend, however, as he and Lally encountered mechanical issues and ultimately finished in 15th.

"We did have a tough time at Watkins Glen, but it was good to spend another weekend with the TRG guys," said Ende. "More seat time is always good, but we are definitely excited to get back in our ALMS car which has been so good. With all of the long straight-aways and fast corners, the Road America race will definitely be an exciting one for the spectators and everyone watching from home."

The green flag for the Road America Road Race Showcase will wave on Saturday, August 20 at 3:00 PM CT and will be shown live on ESPN3.com, with the broadcast beginning at 2:45 PM CT. The race will be televised on Sunday, August 21, on ABC at 4:30 PM ET.
