AMERICAN LE MANS SERIES TEAMS WITH EBAY, SALVATION ARMY FOR GRID KIDS AUCTIONS

Lakeville, Conn. - The American Le Mans Series, in conjunction with Ebay and the Salvation Army, has created an online auction of collectible team items and race car parts that will be available for bid through both Ebay and www.americanlemans.com for the remainder of the season. All proceeds from the auctions will go to support the Series' Salvation Army Grid Kids program for disadvantaged youth and will be awarded at the year-end awards banquet in Monterey, Calif. on October 22.

The auctions will kick off with a unique twist, however. This weekend at Lime Rock Park - site of the New England Grand Prix and Round Four of the American Le Mans Series - will see a silent auction held on site at the American Le Mans Series merchandise shop in the fan midway. Two collectible items will be featured.

Beginning at noon Thursday, collectible enthusiasts will be able to come by and place bids on the items using the bid sheets. A preset price will begin the bidding. Each item will have a minimum incremental "new bid" amount pre-assigned to it. Fans can come in throughout the weekend to see how their bids are holding up and re-bid if they wish. The bids will close at 2 p.m. Saturday, the day of the race, signaled by the sound of a horn. Those with the highest bid on each bid sheet at that time will get to take home the merchandise upon payment of their winning bid.

The two items available for auction at Lime Rock Park will be:

* Door from No. 57 Aston Martin DBR9 (2005) that raced at Le Mans and in the American Le Mans Series. It is signed by 2006 Le Mans drivers Darren Turner, Tomas Enge, Andrea Piccini, Stephane Sarrazin, Stephane Ortelli and Pedro Lamy.

* 1998 Panoz Visteon GTR-1 firesuit worn by Jamie Davies at Le Mans.

Following Lime Rock and between races, additional items will be available via Ebay and www.americanlemans.com. Silent auctions will be featured at each track for the remainder of the season.

Grid Kids Merchandise Pack
In addition to the Grid Kids auctions, the American Le Mans Series merchandise and licensing division has developed a special Salvation Army Grid Kids merchandise pack that will be available online and at all at-track merchandise shops during race week. The sale starts this week at Lime Rock Park.

The specially created pack will retail at $25 - discounted to $23 at Lime Rock to kick off the program - and consist of a Grid Kids t-shirt, mouse pad, lapel pin, stickers, specialty photo and the "Spirit of America" Panoz LMP1 1:64 Hot Wheels collectible race car. Fifty percent (50%) of the profits from each Grid Kids Pack sold will go to the Salvation Army Grid Kids fund and be included in an award presentation at the end of the year.
