Edoardo Piscopo keeps the pace in practice at Zhuhai

The opening day of the fourth seasonal A1GP Round at Zhuhai ended up with a good performance by Edoardo Piscopo, though the Italian driver continued in his learning process to familiarize with the Zytek-powered Lola and with the though Chinese racetrack. In the first Rookie Practice session, Edoardo, who's running a full weekend for Italy, clocked the eleventh fastest time (1:14.907), just 0.775s far from the one set by Germany's Michael Ammermuller. Edoardo then kept the pace in the regular Practice, scoring 14th (1:24.593) among the experienced field he'll race on Saturday and Sunday. The best time of the day was set by Adam Carrol for Ireland, in 1:23.279.

"I'm quite satisfied with the way we could set up the car. I'm having a great feeling on the steering wheel, and in the closing stages of today's sessions I realized how much faster I could have pushed, though 14th place is plenty enough so far. Today's sessions were very useful and formative, and that led to a constant improvement. Considering my young age, this is an incredible chance, as I'm facing drivers coming even from Formula One that are like true reference points to me."
