Qualifying took place today over at Taupo Circuit, New Zealand, and Filipe Albuquerque displayed a solid pace, managing to secure two third places for tomorrow's races.

With these results, the initially set goals are clearly attainable for the young driver: "Despite Ireland displayed a slightly faster pace than ours, I believe tomorrow we'll fight for wins on both races. I did my best, but the Irish car was simply unbeatable. 3rd place ends up being a good slot since I'll be leaving from the cleaner side of the track and throughout the race anything can happen. We are running quite fast on used tires and for tomorrow I anticipate two extremely competitive races". Qualifying was entirely dominated by Irishman Adam Carroll, A1 Team Portugal's major opponent this season.

A1 Team Portugal's CEO, Luis Vicente, added: "I'm certain we'll have two extremely competitive races ahead of us, and besides Filipe's usual consistence, we'll need to excel from a strategic point of view if we aim to win. The pit stops as well as the adaptation to both tire and track conditions will be adamant to attain our goals. It's a circuit with heavy traffic, so we'll need to be very aggressive on-track".

Feature Race action will be broadcasted live via Sport TV2, starting at 00h50m.
