I am very pleased with the rookie sessions. The car performed well and in the first session I was able to place 5th which is an improvement over Zhuhai. I was able to use all the track time to work on my line and braking points because we waited to bed a set of brake pads until the second session. The track was very narrow so finding a gap to put in a lap time was very important. In the second session I bedded some brake pads and then after a short red flag period I set off to put in a good lap time. Traffic was frustrating and I was never in a good position to put down a good lap so we ended up 10th in the second session. The car was very balanced in the high speed corners and now we just have to work on some slow speed under-steer and I think we will be very competitive. Overall I am really happy and I think we have a great car for the weekend.
All the circuits have been new to me this year and the team has done an excellent job of providing me with data and information going into all the races. The next event is at Eastern Creek near Sydney, Australia. 5th place was a great improvement for me and hopefully I can build on this and continue to improve in Australia!

Add on: Despite the fact that A1 Team Netherlands was not amongst the front runners on day 1 the team is pleased with the way things went during the first practice sessions on the Taupo circuit. So far the signals are there to leave the distant New Zealand with a good result.
