A1GP management visits ZIC; Romantic city ready to host big race again After A1GP announced that the fifth round of the 2007-08 A1GP sereis will be held at the Zhuhai International Circuit, the A1GP management, including director Belinda Edwards, CEO Asian Region David Clare, Television Productions & Trackside Signage General Manager Javier Belendez, Television Producer Mike Scott, Technical and Operational General Manager John Wickham, Technical Officer Alan Maybin, Hospitality & Event Serivces Peter Hugg and Track Signage Production Representative Josef Lazinger visited ZIC on 8 August.

A1GP management's visit was highly regared by the Zhuhai Municipal Government. Zhuhai's Vice-Mayor Deng Qun-Fang received the guests and held a meeting with them.

After the meeting the A1GP management visited ZIC. They toured the entire facility accompanied by two of the circuit's Deputy General Managers. They confirmed that the facility is very much up to standard and expressed their confidence that ZIC will be able to hold the A1GP race successfully.

A1GP use standard 500bhp single seater formula cars, it strongly emphasize the "National Team" concept. Two venues in China have held A1GP races before, these were the Shanghai International Circuit and the Beijing Yizhuang Street Circuit.

A1 Team China's no. 1 driver for 2007-8 Cheng Cong-Fu is currently competing in the British Formula 3 Championship. Previously he took a fine fourth place finish in the sprint race in the 2006-07 season.
