Kerr to Appear at Donington Park's GP Live Event
London, England (May 16, 2007) -- A1 Team Great Britain's Robbie Kerr will make an appearance at this weekend's GP Live at Donington Park, Saturday 19th May. The A1GP World Cup of Motorsport regular will be back at a race track for the first time since leading Great Britain to an historic victory in the season finale of the 2006-07 A1GP Series at Brands Hatch last month.
Kerr will be present at Donington Park for a Q&A session on Saturday morning before taking his turn signing autographs at the East Midlands circuit. The popular British racer is no stranger to Donington having competed there on numerous occasions on his way to domestic titles in Formula First, Formula Renault and Formula Three as well as an appearance in last season's World Series by Renault.
Robbie will be joined by other A1GP-related attractions at GP Live, billed as a celebration of grand prix racing, with series commentator and five-time F1 race winner John Watson strapping in behind the wheel of A1 Team Ireland's 550bhp A1GP car for demonstration runs on Donington's National Circuit. A1 Team Great Britain's race car will also be present, featuring in the Tyre Change Challenge open to members of the general public throughout the weekend.
"I'm looking forward to GP Live," commented Kerr. "From what I've heard it's going to be a fantastic celebration of motorsport and obviously I'm delighted to be a part of that by representing A1 Team Great Britain and the A1GP Series at Donington. It's always great when the fans that support us can get close to the action and meet drivers as well as take part in competitions using actual race cars. It should be fun to see all the cars billed unleashed at Donington, it's a great circuit and I love competing there!"
