Filip Salaquarda is going to race in all remaining races of the A1GP season 2007/2008. Native of Prague has experience from four F3 season, he raced one year in the German Recaro cup and three seasons in the prestigious Euroseries. He already knows the taste of the A1GP car. He managed to finish on points in Chinese Shanghai last year. Twenty four years old driver recently tested the Champcar Atlantic single-seater and he is looking forward to return to the World Cup of Motorsport.
The young Praguer belongs to the most experienced single-seater drivers in the Czech Republic. He raced not only in the F3 but compete also with both F3000 and International Formula Master cars. His father Igor has been boss of the I.S.R. team (www.isr-racing.cz) for many years and the team has competed in prestigious European series.
Filip Salaguarda: "I am very happy hat I will do all three remaining events of the A1GP season. I do not know the track in Mexico but I am allowed to participate in the rookies test, so I should learn the track quickly. I raced in the A1GP in Shanghai last year and got a point for 10th place in the Feature race. Also Bands hatch is no stranger to me, at least the shorter version because I raced there in the F3 Euroseries. I am really looking forward to all races because I fell that I am well prepared. I did few Formula Atlantic tests in Florida and also did a physical training. I will not race in the States this season because the team did not fulfil their promises, so I am fully focused on the A1GP. I hope that I will not disappoint Antonin Charouz's faith in me."
Antonin Charouz, Seat holder: "Our agreement with Filip was quick and easy. We had not reached an agreement with Josef Kral's management team, the youngster raced for us in Durban, and immediately afterwards we shook hands with Filip. He raced for us last year, when he did the rookie session in the South Africa and scored point in China. I am not excluding cooperation with Josef Kral in the future but it is not today's topic."
