Aussie Icons Combine Forces to Contest The World Cup of Motorsport
Foster's - Australia's most famous beer and the most recognisable Australian brand name worldwide, has teamed with A1 Team Australia, to take on the world and challenge for victory among 25 nations in The World Cup of Motorsport, the A1 Grand Prix of Nations, being held at Eastern Creek Raceway this weekend.
Announcing its status as Official Sponsor of A1 Team Australia, Foster's Australia Managing Director John Murphy said the company is an avid supporter of world-class sporting events, promoting international collaboration, healthy competition and excellence in sport. And, this unique event is shaping up to be a battle of champions on the world stage.
"Foster's and A1 Team Australia has many similarities. Just as Foster's has had a meteoric rise as a world class brand, A1 Team Australia is a world class racing team, rising to the top tier of motor racing; Foster's promotes excellence and superior quality around the world, just as A1 Team Australia is promoting excellence in motor racing; and Foster's is one of Australia's greatest icons of all time, taking Australia and Australians to the rest of the world. A1 Team Australia will contest the battle between nations at Eastern Creek on the weekend showcasing some of the best that we have to offer in motorsport and taking the team to millions around the globe," he said.
"In the spirit of international collaboration and excellence in sport, Foster's is delighted to be an Official Sponsor of A1 Team Australia. Our sponsorship commences this weekend and will continue for the duration of the series. We wish A1 Team Australia every success for this weekend and the entire series," Mr Murphy added.
Alan Jones, Seat Holder of A1 Team Australia and the 1980 F1 World Champion, said it will be a very proud moment for him personally when the A1 Team Australia car officially enters the track carrying the branding of Foster's, a truly iconic Australian brand.
"I would like to thank Foster's for having faith in what we are trying to achieve for Australia -- attempting to win the first ever World Cup of Motorsport. This also renews an association I had with Foster's when I was driving Formula One. I and all the team are truly appreciative of their commitment," he said.
Being held for the first time in Australia, the A1 Grand Prix of Nations promises to be a fast, exciting and adrenaline fuelled weekend full of entertainment. Pitching nation against nation on a level playing field, it's a series where technology and innovation are deliberately equalised and performance is determined by human bravery, skill and excellence.
