BRNO, Czech Republic (October 7, 2006) - A1 Team Mexico through their driver Salvador Duran will start from the sixth row in the Sprint race which will be hold this Sunday at the 5.41-Km. (3.36-mile) Brno circuit in the A1GP Series.

Duran was ranked sixth in the free practice prior the qualifying segments, and in the first qualifying session he was also sixth fastest with a time of 1'46.514, while in the second segment he was 10th with a lap of 1'47.683. In the third segment he repeated a 10th-place effort (1'46.429). In the last session he was in the 15th spot with a lap-time of 1'46.995. Eventually, in the aggregated time the Mexican team accumulated a time of 3'32.943 to be placed 11th in the starting grid.

"On Thursday we had gearbox problems and unfortunately, we could not find the right gear to replace the one broken (third gear). I think this affected us," Duran from Mexico City, Mexico said. "Also, the car still had understeer in the back corner. Other than that, the car performed well. I think there is no excuse for not qualifying better and it was really strange that we qualified 11th, because during free practices we were always in the top positions. We just need to work harder for the two Sunday's races to finish well."

"My team and I stay motivated. We know that we can get more podiums and tomorrow (Sunday) we hope to achieve that goal again, because we are going to do our best for Mexico, to represent my country in the best way possible," he added.
