Cheng Congfu Finished his A1GP 2007/08 Racing Season

On May 4, the final race of A1 GP 2007/08 racing season came to the famous Brands Hatch Circuit.

In the qualifying sessions on May 3, Cheng Congfu did not perform very well. The respective grid positions for Sunday's Sprint and Feature races were 16th and 8th.

During the Sprint race, it was very difficult for Cheng Congfu to do the overtaking, because of both the disadvantageous grid position and short durance of the race. Without the possibility of entering Top 10, Cheng did the fastest lap time of 1'16"184 in lap 14, won one point for China team. This had been the fourth time that he did such a great job.

In the Feature race of 48 laps, Cheng fully took advantage of his familiarity of this circuit and god speed, with the competitive power of China team's racing car, he finished the race by 4th, added 8 points for the team.

Thus, Cheng Congfu finished all his races of A1GP 2007/08 racing season; the final ranking of China team was 13th in total 22 teams, with 55 points.

After the race, Cheng said, "I felt much honored that I could participate in all the races of A1GP this season for my country. Although unfortunately we did not enter the Top 10, four times of fastest laps showed that we had very competitive power. I do hope that I could achieve better results with all my team members if I could race for China for the next season. Following races I will attend are F3 Euro Series, in which I have already missed the first two races because of the tight schedule of A1GP. I will try my best to cooperate with my team to do good results."

The third race of 2008 F3 Euro Series will be held in Pau in France, on June1.
