Practice session delayed for A1GP in Beijing, China

A1 Team Pakistan completed just two installation laps around the new Beijing Street Circuit before the day's two practice sessions were postponed to allow organisers to address issues with the brand new circuit.

While the track, designed especially for the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport Series received its FIA Grade 2 approval this morning, organisers opted to delay on-track activity until their concerns over one section of the track have been addressed.

Twenty A1GP cars left the pit lane at 15.15 this afternoon for the delayed start of the first official practice session. After two cars had experienced minor incidents at turn eight, the hairpin bend at the end of the straight, which caused the session to be red flagged, it was decided to cancel all further track action for the day.

The 2008 Olympic city will host the third round of the season on Sunday 12 November, 2006.
