STEPHANE ORTELLI TO DRIVE TOLEDO IN WORLD TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP

SEAT Sport France has announced its intention to enter the FIA World Touring Car Championship with effect from the next meeting in Germany on August 27th/28th. The team's driver will be Stephane Ortelli, who will take part in the Oschersleben, Istanbul and Valencia races with a Toledo Cupra run by the Oreca team and supported by SEAT France.

Together with the experience of Oreca in Touring Car racing, the entry will be also supported by SEAT Sport engineering and technical staff.

35-year-old Ortelli comes to the team with a wealth of experience in Touring Car and Sports Prototype racing, including wins at Le Mans (1998) and Spa (2003). Stephane won the N-GT title in the FIA GT Championship in both 2002 and 2003, while he was also Porsche Supercup Champion in 2002.

Oschersleben -- the scene of Rickard Rydell's maiden victory for SEAT Sport last year -- will therefore see Ortelli competing alongside the three official SEAT Sport drivers, Rickard Rydell, Jordi Gene and Peter Terting, and the two SEAT Sport Holland drivers, Tom Coronel and Valle Makela.
