Co-founded by Sébastien Loeb and Dominique Heintz in late 2011, the Sébastien Loeb Racing is about to take an important step next season. After proving its abilities as part of the Porsche Carrera Cup, GT or Endurance racing, the Alsace-based team has now come up with a new worldwide programme for 2015.

Besides the three factory Citroën C-Elysée entered in the World Touring Car Championship, one of which will be driven by Sébastien Loeb himself again, the Sébastien Loeb Racing will also line up two C-Elysée which will be competing under its own name.

It’s a very important step for the team !

Sébastien Loeb

Since its first season in 2012, the Sébastien Loeb Racing keeps on notching up successes. The team has been amongst the Porsche Carrera Cup France’s main protagonists for the past three years, having racked up several titles and four runner-up places this season. The squad from Soultz-Sous-Forêts also clinched several wins in GT, whether in the French Championship and in the FIA GT Series. Finally, the Sébastien Loeb Racing also won the 6 Hours of Estoril earlier this year and achieved a fourth-place finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, LM P2 class. The team has tasted victory in every single discipline it got involved in.

According to its own philosophy, " the highest possible, the fastest possible ", the team had to pick up extra momentum in 2015. It will actually be the case as the Sébastien Loeb Racing will take part in one of the five FIA World championships. Alongside boss Sébastien Loeb, the team will be at the start of the WTCC with two Citroën C-Elysée.

" It’s a fantastic news and a great day for the Sébastien Loeb Racing " says Sébastien Loeb. " Every single year we’ve tried to take an extra step forward and to set up a large-scale programme with Citroën, that’s why it’s such an important achievement for us today. We keep on growing. Personally, I couldn’t have dreamt of any better scenario. To see my own team racing within the same championship as me and with my long-time manufacturer, Citroën, is super.

That new challenge will be very interesting on many levels, including in terms of operating. Throughout the last three years, the team has shaped itself. It has shown some skills as well as an ability to adapt, not forgetting its great determination and commitment in succeeding. The WTCC being an increasingly attractive high quality championship, we will tackle this challenge with much humility as well as a great deal of passion and enthusiasm. "

“Entrusting the two private Citroën C-Elysée WTCCs to Sébastien Loeb Racing was an obvious choice,” adds Yves Matton. “The two cars will be good-as-new reconditioned 2014 chassis, complete with all the developments we introduce next season. It’s now up to the team to finalise its agreements as far as its drivers are concerned, but we are all working together to make it possible for Ma Qing Hua to continue his FIA WTCC career with Citroën. His performances have shown that he deserves the chance to race a full season in 2015.”

The names of the two drivers to take part in the WTCC alongside the Sébastien Loeb Racing will be confirmed in the next weeks to come. The team is currently considering several other opportunities, on top of that competition, in order to extend its programme. The Porsche Carrera Cup, amongst others, is on the agenda
