Dutch exit penalized by bad weather for BMW Team Italy-Spain. Alessandro Zanardi and Felix Porteiro alternated in Zandvoort at the wheel of a 2006 BMW 320si with the objective to get confidence with the track that in May will for the first time house a round of the WTCC Championship.

Umberto Grano (BMW Italy and BMW Spain sportive activity responsible)

"Weather forecasts unfortunately turn out to be not accurate and therefore we did not have the chance to run on dry track as we hoped. Nevertheless, we completed our technical programme and our drivers had the occasion to learn the Zandvoort circuit. The track highlighted a remarkable performance gap between used and new tyres, which can be quantified in almost two seconds. Based on this data I am satisfied with our lap times".
