RECORD AUDIENCES FOR WTCC IN SWEDEN

A record number of Swedish viewers switched on Eurosport to watch live broadcasting of the FIA World Touring Car Championship races from Anderstorp, resulting in the highest market share on Sunday afternoon between 14.15 and 15.15.

Audience share of live broadcast of Race 1 totalled 11%, while that of live broadcast of the second race reached 15.4% according to the figures released by MMS.

CHEVROLET'S MAGIC WEEKEND

Chevrolet dominated in Anderstorp. Under weather conditions that changed dramatically and in front of a crowd of 28,000, the blue Lacetti cars scored a double victory with Robert Huff in Race 1 and Rickard Rydell in Race 2. The latter led home a Chevrolet trio, with Nicola Larini and Alain Menu on his tail.

With the BMW men in troubles on the slippery track - only Farfus scored one point - Anderstorp's results enabled Larini and Menu to close on the leading BMW trio. Jorg Muller remains on top, closely followed by Farfus and Priaulx (1 and 2 points behind respectively); the German has a 10-point margin ahead of Larini, while Menu lies 3 further points adrift. Yvan Muller and Tarquini, the best SEAT men, are 6th and 7th with gaps of 16 and 17 points.

The championship will resume at Oschersleben, Germany, on August 25th and 26th for round 15 and 16.
