Due to inclement weather, the second WTCC race at the Slovakia Ring was cancelled Sunday.
The second WTCC race at the Slovakia Ring has been cancelled due to heavy rain.
The adverse weather conditions had already forced the race control to shorten the first race after eight laps out of eleven for safety reasons. This was enough to reach 75% of the planned distance and award full points for the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Championships.
This is the first time a WTCC race is cancelled since the championship was revived in 2005.
The next WTCC round will take place at Salzburgring in Austria, from May 24th to 25th.
